My encounter with a Xe Ohm rider (motorbike)

I'm not discriminating or criticizing ,I'm loving Vietnam and the locals but I observed some like to take advantage of foreigners. Today I decided to take Xe ohm (motorbike) and was having an argument with the rider as he refused to return my change. While I was there arguing, about 3 locals came to my aid to translate and help me sort issues out. Thanks to them, I was really amazed and impressed after all. Not everyone's the same

I too have found most locals are great and really do want help us expats, it's great for business anyway. But like you I have had problems with Xe motorbike and I've never been on one! The problem I have is the constant harassment I get from them if I'm in District 1, they are fine where I live in District 2 and other districts I visit away from tourist locations.

They just will not take no for an answer, I always politely say no and for about half of them that's OK, but the rest of them that's just the cue to try other tactics, even walking away from them doesn't work because they often follow you even waiting for you outside shops so they can carry on. When they finally give up trying to get me on the bike they then ask 'Do you like girls' and then it just gets worse. Unfortunately I have found with the persistent one they just have to be told to 'F' off

Hahahaha this is really funny you know..... They're that crazy.... They don't take no or please even if it's your right. Some are them are primitive minded and unexposed. Some are really sweet and will make you feel welcome though... Anyways enjoy vietnam

You can try Grab Bike service from the Grab Taxi folks. It's available on their App.

try getting into the habit of asking for the price first. though it still won't stop you from getting jipped but helps.
