Making phone calls in Finland

Maximilien

Hi,

When settling in Finland, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Finland?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Hello,
Most of the people in Finland uses Mobile phone rather than Landline phone , I prefer a mobile phone in this , if it is for personal use ..
Major telecom operators are
DNA :  dna.fi/puhelimet-ja-liittymat
Sonera :  sonera.fi/
Tele Finland :  tele.fi/tutustu osta/liittymat/liittymat netilla

For example in Tele Finland  We get 100 voice calls, 100 SMS , unlimited data with 2MBPS speed and I pay around 10 euros ..

Honestly I don't know anyone here who has a landline, well except for the in-laws. Internet connection most of the times comes integrated with the cable TV or fiber optic or is already installed in the flat/house.

There are many operators with various packages and random offers, just scan for a bit and you might find some good deal. I've an old contract with Saunalahti: for 5 euros/month (yes, five) i get 100 minutes calls, SMS are charged separately but hey who uses texting when you have unlimited Internet connection?

So I just use Whatsapp and Skype for both texts or calling anywhere in the world.
