I recommend Notary John Spiteri. His office is located right next to the church in Naxxar. His office number are 21412448 and 21412449.
I've been using him for the past 8 or 9 years.

Resurrecting this thread because I need to get some documents notarised. Can anyone give an indication on prices? What does John Spiteri charge? He'd be the closest to where I live so ideally would like to go there.

I highly recommend John Spiteri. I don't know what his fees are. But whenever I used his services, he never charged me 'stupid' fees.
Perhaps you could give his office a call, tell them what you need and get a quote.

Thanks chseychell! I actually prefer to email - especially when it comes to quotes. Do you have an email address by any chance? The one I found online (johnspiteri@euroweb.net) does not work my message came back undelivered

I just got a reply from John, apparently the offices are closed due to a family mourning. He advised I should look for another notary. What a shame (and obviously a sad situation for him).

That's very bad news.
I don't know how urgent your documents are. Perhaps you could wait until the offices are open again?

Well, I could wait for a week or two I guess. The thing is I don't want to push him it might be inappropriate in such a time. He even wrote "Kindly seek the services of another notary" 

I understand your point. But eventually, he will have to go back to work.
Maybe you wait a week or two before you contact him again. Alternatively, you may call his office and talk to Jane, or send her an email at janefren@go.net.mt. She is very helpful. Perhaps she would be able to tell you when it would be the right time to contact the notary again.
Or else, follow his advice and find another notary.
