Firstly i need 2 know that is it easier for foreiners to live there, someone has told me foreigners do face lot of troubles due to lack of indian i.d card ( called rashan card there).Secondly do they have to face discrimination there? need honest opinions from expereinced friends here.

I need 2 know how to get started,if u want to persue  carreer in acting.secondly what is average rent there for an appartment, probably in place like juhu, bandra or andheri ( i have heard about them only)

i was searching about expatriates who went 2 mumbai 2 persue a carreer in films and went on becoming successfull
i only found 2 names Somy Ali,Katrina Kaif

Hi Anny,

Salamu aleikum,

Well, I myself, just came from Mumbai after living there for a whole year...And fortunately I have answers to all your questions.. though I will try to be brief now...Anyways, you can write me and I can clarify anything else you need to know.

Well, first thing...I think you have already checked on internet to see what school you wanna join. There are many, Kishor namit kapoor and Anupam kher are one of the most famous ones...You get to know more about acting, you get to lern how to be in front of the camera etc etc...but there is nothing that garantee they will give work at the completion of the course. All schools say the same but most of the time you have to start looking by yourslef for ways to make it...you need to go to auditions, casting and you never know...many people start from zero, so you never know when your luck will click...you just have to keep on trying...It's all about having a positive approach to life. You will come across so many negative people who say that you can't make it because you should be of the Kapoor's family or have connections etc etc...but I always say to those people that if god wants something for you no one in this world will take it from you...:)

OK, back to the point..About living in Mumbai. in the whole year i SPENT THERE I have never had any kind of discrimination from any side...I find a lot more of that outside of india...but India, is really fair. It never discriminate...It opens the heart and doors to all people of the whole world without discriminating any one at all...

Well, the first thing you shoudl start with is to set your mind and decide where, and what you wanna do...take the admission and start your visa procedures...you should go with a student visa not a tourist one to avoid problems.

Rent in mumbai depends a lot...you can find a PG with 5 to 10 boys all living together and paying somwhere around 4000 ruppes a month...in  bandra and juhu you can share a room costing about 9000 rupees per month..it all depends what is your budget.

Well ,I hope I have cleared at least a little bit of your doubts..for any more details you can always write me...If you have a dream go for it...

Best of luck
