Welcome on the forum noell ;)

Yeah, it wise to being careful, however, some of our active bloggers claimed that things are calming down over there. (/forum/viewtopic.php?id=67145 - French discussion)

Hope other members will comment on this issue soon ;)

Hi Noell,
Indeed, everything seems to be fine now. By the way, medias made it look much worse than it has ever been :(
So much for fairness and objectivity !
Our only concern is the economic situation. February was terrible for tourism, retail etc... We hope that March will look better or it might jeopardize employment in some "not so strong" companies.
Just make sure then that you're not joining one of those companies !

Besides that, we didn't change much our way of living, except not going downtown Manama at the timing of protests. Not for security reasons, but for traffic craziness mostly :D
The situation has been very tough the first 3 days but since the crown prince withdrew the army from the scene everyone has acted with a lot of smartness and guts. Can you imagine in your country half of the local population (around 400.000 persons) demonstrating in the streets for 3 hours and when they leave, you can't even find a paper or an empty cup on the ground ? French demonstrators could really learn a lot here !
Let's hope things will evolve in the right way...

Regards

Olivier

Hi Dublin, Don't be panic. Our Indian embassy will help us when situation will be worst or they will inform us before situation will be getting worst.

Hi Everyone,
My husband has been offered a job in Bahrain starting in May.  We are really considering this as it is a very good financial opportunity for us.  Our plans are to visit Bahrain in April for an exploratory visit.

From those of you that live there currently I am wodering what the situation is like? Is it safe for expats?

I have read some of the other blogs however, I just read online that the US Embassy advised Americans not to leave their residences.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Armand

Hello Noelle

Take it easy for a couple of weeks before you decide to fly down. The situation is edging towards normalcy although deep undercurrents exist as the wounds are all too fresh. But I have hope that Bahrain shall overcome....

Hi everyone, Can somebody help me about our situation I need your opinion. I am married now for almost a year to a Bahraini and I got pregnant before our marriage. I am now living in my country and we're struggling to get our baby a visa to get back in Bahrain. What should we do? Or if there's any possible  ways that we could get our baby a visa?

XTang

If you are legally married and the marriage is recognised in Bahrain, then there should be no issue.  And this is a very old thread and not related to your question.  Find the right thread or create a new one.

Yes I am legally married. But how am I suppose to bring my daughter with me they don't want to give her visa, even temporary visa we cannot get for her. I don't know what is the problem we submit all the requirements needed even the medical reports. But still they are rejecting our visa application. 😩

XTang

Your husband needs to go to immigration and find out the details of why the rejection is happening. And it is strange as children of Bahraini fathers can get nationality. Doesn't work with Bahraini mothers, only fathers.

You haven't given enough details for anyone to tell you anything e.g. When and where did you get married? Where was the child born? Was the marriage registered in Bahrain as well as Philippines?  Who is applying for the visa, your husband?

GuestPoster20968

We got married twice. First civil wedding in Philippines, then Shariah marriage in Philippines also. The immigration accepted our shariah marriage contract in Bahrain and they give me visa but then I m not fit to travel anymore because I'm 7 months pregnant that time when my visa approved so I decided to gave birth here in the Philippines.

After I gave birth my husband and I immediately submit all the requirements needed like medical records and birth certificate for my daughter's visa. The immigration keeps on rejecting the visa application. My husband is always at the immigration to talk to the people there asking why? They are just advising us to apply again. How many applications they need to approve my daughters visa! 😩

XTang

I am not sure why this is the case.  I hope the birth certificate shows the father name, has been attested by MOFA Philippines and Bahrain Embassy in Philippines?  because that could be one reason.

Also, ask your husband to approach Bahrain Embassy in Philippines to talk about nationality directly instead of going through whole visa route.

Okay thanks.. We'll definitely do that. Thankyou
