Paying bills in Kuwait

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

What bills do you pay? If you are renting, are bills included in the price of rent, and is this common practice in Kuwait?

How can you pay your bills (e.g. online, at provider's store, at the post office)? Which is the most convenient or reliable way?

With what frequency are different bills sent in Kuwait? Are there different deadlines for payment?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

hi
its a good topic the knowledge about Kuwait.yes both practices are prevail in Kuwait i:e water and electricity charges including in the rent and mostly tenant has to pay by his own.
all utilities are being provided by the government so bills are payable to Govt.
there is a e-government page to check your electricity/water/municipality charges/telephone ,different types of fines and fees are being collected by this site, one can pay by his credit /debit card which saves a lot of time.
in the hospitals too, higher amounts of medical services are being collected thru debit/credit card.
electricity/water/municipality charges  are being collected on your ease, u have to capture a picture of your electricity meter to present to the meter readers available at paying offices beside if u are lucky your data may be updated online which can be obtained by logging in to e govt page
these are the few information
best regards

Rent is paid cash to the building manager, my rent for my apartment includes water and electricity, internet (but most of the time the internet is so slow that you cannot even open Google chrome homepage) and satellite tv, with some nice channels on it, I usually just watch a movie channel or the news from time to time

I also started paying for 4G lte internet, which I can pay online, which is quick and easy, they have something in Kuwait known as 'k-net' which is like the visa or master card for local purchases

Well usually I pay the post paid Internet which goes some times 2-3 months delay but there are no extra charges, you can pay that any time. I also paid the monthly installment for the iPhone.

every company has their own app, or online portal to pay the fee which is so easy, if a person is afraid then there is a machine on each of their branch which is another way to pay, or if some one has time to wait in  the queue he can wait in the branch to pay directly in counter.

post paid bills are monthly,  especially if you have subscription for the voice phone, for data line the case is different. they also get tie with your salary account which deducts monthly by default, and you get a message for deduction. there are lot of ways but over  all i can say no harm if the perosn in punctual on paying.

In case a person cheat not to pay installment, he may go back to his country, but he might not come back, HE will also never be able to get new visa as he will be blocked, I have seen also such cases.

Honesty is the best policy... enjoy the Kuwait....

Hi

Bill payments are 90% online, all services are availalbe.
As majority of Accomodations provide electricity and water free, we skip on those payments.
Traffic fines are also available online, except the major offences if taken to court.
Medical insurances are also online provided by the insurance companies.
Lots of services, from mobile to petrol, as prepaid card are available, can be recharged online through the service providers online site.

Guess you got an idea...
