Keeping in touch while living in Panama

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

What are the best ways you've found for keeping in touch with friends and family back home while living in Panama? How frequently do you stay in touch with loved ones?

Are there local equivalents to common instant messaging and online video calling services that you prefer or are more widely used?

If there is a sizeable time difference, how do you manage this?

Do you make international phone calls from a landline or mobile phone from Panama? What do you think of the cost?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

Facetime is a wonderful thing! We also follow each other on Facebook, use Facebook messenger, and email.

I also have a Skype plan for unlimited calling to the US but use it mainly for the occasional business call, and my husband talks with his mother.

In Panama, WhatsApp is the thing. everyone uses it.

What's App -  hands down - we use it every day, both voice and image - plus FACEBOOK. We also use  Skype - although Skye is less reliable.
