there are a dozen forums you can join including a lot of good information right here ,, i had a very successful guide service my first 2 years here but moved to the country and became a fishing guide ,, that lased seven years now i just buy and sell properties .. most of what i learned was from the then 2 or 3 forums and just getting around .. come on down get your feet wet

Agree with the above. But I will add something that was really non-existent when we we looking all over the country before settling in Chiriquí. WAZE - I can’t believe how far the info via GPS has come.

Now I am going back a few years obviuosly, but we had a Garmin GPS and bought the sw that someone developed to import to our Garmin to guide us through Panama.

Nice guy and I don’t know what happened other than it didn’t end well. Prior to that, we were happy to provide him landmarks here in Chiriqui which did not exist.

By now , that is no longer an issue because all the big companies came in and made their satellite images. Now tha I finally know my way around David I really don’t need but still like to use WAZE on occasion - it works. I landmark places that even now can be confusing to find.

David is small but without a compass or WAZE, I probably could get lost!

Google translator is a must for first timers in Panama, it was of so much help enabling us to communicate with people.

Whatsapp for calls; Uber for transportation in Panama City; Waze for GPS directions when driving; Google Translate and Microsoft Translator for translations from Spanish to English (Note: the Microsoft app provides a voice response of the translated words); Ecuentra 24 which is like Craigslist and Degusta to find restaraunts in Panama City.  Also Duolingo to learn Spanish
