A) I live in Istanbul European Side in a place called ÅžiÅŸli, the place here is crowded as it's very close to Taksim Square but there are a lot of quite places

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?
A) it depends on you in the first place.

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?
A) YES of course but it's normal as Istanbul is one of the very crowded cities in the world but for sure it's not bad as the people here know how to handle that and every one is trying to make it easy for the others.

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Turkey?
A) It depends on where you will live in the city and what you gonna do here for example if you are working online you won't feel any traffic at all and your live will be much easier and in case you had to attend working hours daily you will feel bad but you may stay close to the Metro Stations and don't you ever go to the MetroBus Stations as it's very very very crowded also don't buy a car or take a taxi it's the same in the main roads as it's crowded.

What is parking availability and cost like?
A) there are two kind of parkings
1- private park which cost 10 - 20Ìý Turkish Lira per hour and normally it's under the buildings or the streets
2- normal parkings which is in the street itself and it cost 8 - 9 Turkish Lira per hour and it's not everywhere in some crowded streets only and if you are in a side street you could put your car for free no one gonna say anything but try to be close to your house not so far.

For rush hours, when the roads are beeing stock. I recomand using the metro or metrobus. Rather than buses and trams.

If you're a tourist. I recomand using public transportation when there's not too match traffic or at least avoid these road

For rush hours, "where" the roads are being stacked. I recommend using the Metro-subway trains, bus, or tram lines. If you're a tourist, etc., Ìý STOP

I live in Istanbul and the Trafic is Terrible at Rush Hours 7.30 AM till 10. AMÌý and From 4.30 till 9 Pm

Most of the time I would recommend public transport , the Metro or Metro bus, Where do you live

Hi,

I live on the asian side and my work is on the asian side too of Istanbul. The rule in istanbul/turkey is that work and home should be on the same side to avoid the traffic.

I go to the european side on the weekends and rarely during the week because of the traffic.

Traffic in istanbul is normal part of daily life so you just get used to it.

There are many means of publicÌý transport between asian and european side - busses, metro, ferry etc so you can avoid the traffic by using any of those when commuting between asian and european.
