Aus $ Cheque HSBC the worst bank

I deposited a cheque in Aus $ with HSBC & was told it will take 4 weeks to clear funds.聽 I checked after 4 weeks & was told it will be at least 5 Apr & maybe later before funds cleared.

Perhaps your Australian bank is the rubbish one, maybe being slow at clearing cheques.
It could be the banks have a lot of issues with forged cheques so they have to wait until your bank receives the cheque and confirms payment.
You can't blame a company without knowing the reasons behind any given problem.
