Visa requirement

Post new topic

Hello all,

I am planning on getting married to a Saudi born non Saudi citizen. Living under an Iqama under her parents. I am being told conflicting reports on what type of visa is required. Being told a business visa is required or personal visa is required. Does anyone here know what is required so I can get official paperwork and start the sponsorship? Tried calling the Saudi embassy in Ottawa but no one ever answers the call. Any help is appreciated.

Your post is confusing.

Are you in Saudi on a valid work visa or Iqama?
Have you gotten married and have the legal documents to prove that in Saudi?
Where do you want to sponsor her i.e. in Saudi or Canada?

If Canada, you need to post in those forums.

Hey, I am in Canada. Need legal documents to get married so I can start the sponsorship back in Canada. I was in Saudi on an Umrah visa but they denied the request advising you can't get paperwork on an umrah visa.

Problem is that getting married in Saudi requires both of you to be resident.  Can't you go to her country of citizenship and get married there?

Yeah that is my thought also, most likely the easier way but cost wise will be higher. Noticing things are not easily done in Saudi as I thought. Thanks for the help.

Just to answer the question in case anyone is ever looking for the answer. I did require a business visa.
