There are lots of smaller, practical, high MPG motorcycles used all over Belize. Remember gas is 5-6 USD. I can't imagine the logistical nightmare of keeping one these highway cruisers running when you factor in Belize road conditions, and speed bumps.

Yeah. It looks like the Harley shop there isnt a real bike shop. I'll have to try to find a mechanic that is comfortable working on my bike I guess.

Its a smaller bobber bike, not a big cruiser, and gas here is about 5 USD so I'm pretty used to it already...lol

There is a Harley club that ofton have tables at local events but don't remember seeing any actual Harley Bikes at them.

I thought about bringing my Street Glide down, but after making dozens of trips down while developing our property - I have since decided that I will NOT bring my harley down as there is no decent bike shop down there (Black Pearl Harley is not a "real" bike service shop) and the roads are crazy bad for bikes - many pot-holes and rocks.
I chatted with another ex-pat who brought his Harley down from TX and he has since sold it because he was in Hopkins Village and that is not a good place to tool around on a street bike.
I plan to bring down a good cross-country bike like a Honda CRF250 or a like BMW.  I see a bunch of Hondas down there and service in Mexico is fairly easy.  You can easily outrun all the Chinese trash bikes you see running around Belize : )

There are lots of small mechanic shops around but many don’t have the best tools. A lot of people in Corozal take their vehicles to Caribbean Tire in Orange Walk or they go into Chetumal for service. One interesting thing is that most of the mechanic shops don’t stock or order any parts so you have to go to the parts store and buy or order parts and then bring them back to the shop.
