Good areas for expats other than Whitefield?

We are relocating to Bangalore in August 2011. I am Caucasian/American & my husband is Indian from Mumbai. We have two teen-age children. We would like to live in an area that is not 100% expat but one that is expat-friendly. We have a decent allowance. Work will be on Old Madras Road & we are looking at Indus/TISB schools.

We would appreciate recommendations for housing in areas that will provide us a pleasant, local experience for the year we are in Bangalore.

Dear Umaa,

Welcome to Bangalore, Whitefield is pretty far from the city. if you are looking at living around the city and easy access i suggest you look for places around Richmond Town, Langford Road, Cunningham Road, (basically around M.G Road).
I suggest you contact property agents as they are the perfect people to get what you are looking for.

Dear Umaa,

If the work place is on the old Madras Road the best recommended area is IndiraNagar. Also very reputed schools around and a very safe place as well.
