Hi ayaan6! It is sad to hear this. I myself also got my S Pass rejected twice recently (23 Dec), and worse I did not get the exact reason why MOM rejected my pass. My offered salary is 3600. I tried to reach out to the company to appeal again as I am still serving MOE Tuition Grant Bond. However, they played a dirty card on me that S Pass quota has recently been filled in. Can you believe one of the Big 4 suddenly has their quota full after just a few weeks? Well, I don't want to point my fingers here. Let begone be begone.

Have you done self assessment before on MOM website? If you never do it, I suggest you can check it by yourself. It is quick and easy.

If you are Malaysia, you can get E Pass with a minimum salary of 3,000. All the best to you. If your employer is willing to help you, you guys can try for another application. For visa extension, may I know what pass are you holding and who issued the pass to you? MOM or ICA?

ayaan6

hi boybabyrage,
thanks for reply.
i checked in SAT tool I'm eligible for EPASS above 5700 . but now my salary is 2800 .
Will i get approved if i apply Epass with salary 5700 ?. with higher position and my company have less 10 employee so i dont need to post job in job banks as per MOM rule .
now I'm on Spass issued by MOM. but for extension my company said Mom website not allowing to apply extension because of no pending application. so how i get extension ?

I don't want to discourage you ,but if the salary difference is so big, there is a high chance that you are not legible for EP. Anyway, it is worth giving it a try.

For S Pass extension, only your employer can submit to MOM. Once your S Pass is expired or cancelled, MOM will issue you a short term visit pass (30 days visa) for you to stay in Singapore. This short term visit pass can be extended under a few conditions such as waiting for work pass renewable, no flight back home ...etc,. For more details, you can check with your employer or MOM website.

Personally, I suggest you contacting your boss and make sure he writes you a strong recommendation letter before submitting to MOM again for E Pass application. Otherwise, plan B is to look for another opportunity. Best of luck to you.

ayaan6

what kind strong recommendation letter ? like what ? can you please explain me about that.
thank you again for ur advice ðŸ™ðŸ˜£

beppi

Ayaan: In addition to the very good replies you got from Boybaby, your company should give a VERY GOOD and convincing explanation why you are suddenly worth so much more to them. Just a change of mind after the rejections will NOT be enough, as MoM would then suspect an illegal "kickback" scheme (where you return some of the salary increase to the company and the higher pay thus only exists to circumvent MoM's requirements). In this case the result would just be another rejection.

The letter must provide a strong reason why the company needs to hire you like @beppi suggested. It must be convincing enough for MOM to consider your application again.

ayaan6

hi beppi.
thank you so much for ur reply.
i understand now.

ayaan6

thank u boybabyrage.

Hi ayann6, I am not in a position to advise you on this.

For your info, EP is generally processed faster than SP (average 1-2 weeks). I know a number of people who can get it in 1 day or less than a week. Due to Covid-19 situation, I heard from my friend (who is close to HR) that MOM is only considering applicants who are residing in Singapore at this moment.

Since you have about 1 month to stay in Singapore, I personally feel your company should apply for you while you are still here. Otherwise, you can just go back first, spend some time with your family and slowly find other opportunities.

ayaan6

thank u so much for ur valuable advice . ðŸ™

You should see the status of you pass application

Ensure you know the correct date of application

Thank you for that! I am confident with the application date is correct as mentioned by the new employer, but says “ E0000236 : No record found.â€

MOM didn’t say why? Whats your industry

MPAL11

My boss said it is beacuse of qouta that they have to have 16 locals to work in the centre

Anyway i am a teacher in an childcare

MPAL11

Do the MOM will tell the reason why they dont approve?

MPAL11

How was your pass now?

jchester24

MPAL11 wrote:

MOM will mention the reason of rejection if the reason due to quota

Then your employer will be aware why it was rejected

But if its 2nd appeal does it mean your company have a sufficient quota already?

Otherwise It will be rejected again

Edlan

Hai,
Before Ur pass going to expiry  ur try to apply for the special pass 1 month,

MPAL11

Im not really sure but my boss said got two more new loval will be joining us this coming february

MPAL11

Where to get the special pass?

MPAL11

Do you have any idea what is concessionary letter?

MPAL11

Hi do you have any idea waht is concessionary letter?

Because my company sent a concessionary letter to MOm

beppi

Ask them, not us!

jisellemendoza1

Hi. same situation here, my spass got rejected for renewal by a new company. there offered me 2550SGD as a Cafe Supervisor. I’m currently working also in a food and bev industry, but my current employer will not renew my pass due to quota issue. my s pass will expire on march 13,2021
Applied: Jan 21/2021
Rejected: Jan 30/2021
Appeal: Feb 5/2021

Reason for reject is “This Candidate does not meet the qualifying criteria (which includes salary, qualifications and experience) for a S pass. In line with rising local wages, the criteria for S pass have been tightened to ensure that S pass holders are complementary to the local workforce. if you still choose to employ this candidate, you can submitt an appeal.

I took the SAT tool and i inputed my years of experience and the offered salary . but the result is i am not eligable for s pass. I tried to increase my salary by 2800SGD and the result is im eligable for s pass .

do you think my s pass got rejected due to the offered salary of my employer?

beppi

Yes, the offered salary is obviously too low.

jchester24

Yes very likely due to the Salary offer. With the new requirement mandated by MOM hence

Applying New or Renewal of Spass around $2500 is no longer eligible.

jisellemendoza1

The company already know this but still they proceeded with my application 😞. How can i view my appeal status or how can i verify if they truly make an appeal to my pass application?

jchester24

Unfortunately if its on Appeal Stage, you can't refer to MOM website to check the status

Only once its successfully approved, your application status in MOM Website will shows "Approved"

Otherwise it will still show "Rejected.

Only company HR can view the appeal using Corpass

jisellemendoza1

Hi just an update to my situation. My employer contacted me and my pass got rejected again.
My Hr said that she is currently following up with Mom, This time she did not disclose with me the reason why my pass got rejected again . is it possible to have a 3x appeal?

avinashjha

Sorry about that. But unless the employer doesn’t address the issue (lower salary) in the first place, chances are MOM will reject the appeal.

Eligibility tool is an indicator but actual decision depends on many factors like salary vs work experience, education, employer’s profile etc. Also, given the COVID situation and uncertainty of jobs, MOM would definitely want FnB sector to hire locals over a foreigner.

You may want to check with your employer if they have addressed rejection reason given by MOM.

jisellemendoza1

Hi just an update regarding to my situation . here is the reply of my hr . she will no longer try to re appeal my pass . will try to look for another job and company that will apply me for s pass ..:( .. anyways thank you guys for giving me advices . i heard that the required salary for spass is 2900SGD already.

beppi

The minimum for S-Pass is S$2500/month - but this increases with education and work experience. You can use the SAT tool to figure out what is the minimum for your specific profile.

jisellemendoza1

already use the SaT tool. i entered 2800 then i qualify for spass. my hr said that she amended my salary to 2800 but still MoM rejects it . my hr said that the reason why MoM rejects it is “ This candidate still not meet the qualifying criteria, check the Self Assesment tool  to find out the salary required for spass candidate. We are unlikely to accede to any appeal for candidates that fail to qualify for S pass  as indicated by the Self assessment tool.†the hr said she will follow up MoM about this. but idont know if this is true the the MoM replies to her that the reason why i got rejected is because of my qualifications . its verry confusing to my part because the 1st reason she said that its clearly state that it is with my salary . then suddenly it because of my qualifications? then the hr said i better look for another job
