Hey all,
I recently joined a firm here in bahrain but I do not think I will be able to continue for long..may be quit in a few months..but quite concerned about the process
Can I quit by serving the notice period while I'm in a contract and on work visa
Are any charges associated?
Thanks

If you have joined recently and not liking it, the best would be to leave during the probation period. Look inside your contract, generally it is first 3 months. During which you don't have to serve any notice, however, if specified, you may have to pay the penalty charges depending on contract. Bear in mind, you don't have to pay any visa charges or so.
If you are looking to change employer, within first year you can't do it so without permission of current employer.
So it is much more dependent on your contract, read it thoroughly, if required take help of legal person/lawyer dealing with such issues regularly. You can also search online for Bahrain Labor Law and refer to it.
Hope this helps.

I have a Bahraini employee who resigned midway to his 1st year contract before he starts production of what he has been learning and training for; he is asking for a letter of service as well.

What can the company impose on him?
