New change to entry of approval

Post new topic

Hi All,

Is anyone here impacted by the new change on the entry of approval to Singapore? ()

I received my work pass, and followed by entry of approval to Singapore on May 23rd. But, I just saw the news (link above) posted on May 7th. So, it seems that plan is going down the drain. (I am coming to Singapore from one of the "higher" risk countries/regions.

I am wondering if anyone is also affected by this new change, and what do you do? It seems that there is no settled date on when Singapore will issue entry of approval again to the "higher" risk countries/regions.

Thank you!

Hi! I am impacted too.
I was set to travel to Singapore in first week of June, had received entry approval for the same. Now after this announcement by MOM, my employer informed me that the current approval would be cancelled and they will have to reapply for a new one.
At this stage, we don't know when we will be able to reapply..! Hopefully in June!

Your safe travel approval will have to be resubmitted and sought by the employer, after the borders open up for incoming travelers from countries that have been categorised as high risk, as SG is trying its best to contain the virus spread. The economy certainly has been impacted, another spike in the community would be a disaster.

Given your IPA is still valid for a few months, have faith and patience. However, the RE-approval also depends on whether your country of origin is able to recover/ curb the outbreak.

Wish you guys the best, hope things get better. Stay safe.

Your employer should apply for an extension of the IPA validity!

As per the link above:

Any company seeking to bring in workers from higher-risk countries could wait more than six months for entry approval, he said in an update on the Government's response to Covid-19.

This is not very encouraging news for those who are waiting to get an entry approval

With a spike in community cases, also the count of unlinked ones, the Govt has resorted to new restrictions for us all living in SG for an initial 4 weeks (almost effective this Sunday). Border control measures too have been tightened to control the increasing community cases. The situation has impacted travel approvals from high risk countries and there is nothing we can do, except staying safe and exercising caution (as our role). Yes, lot of the pass holders who were expected to come, will need to wait from these (outlined) high risk countries.
