Resign from current employer

Dear
I am working with my employer 6 years and 3 months..now I have new job offer from another employer and I want to join them. So I have to resign normally or should I post through the post office.
Up to now my current employer is good and familiar with me.

The post office approach is only for when the employer is giving you trouble.聽 It is always preferred to resign and sort out these issues amicably.
