Post new topic

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what exactly is to be emailed or faxed to the Lisbon airport prior to arriving with my dog from Canada. I’m getting different messages ??

Obrigada,

Lorie

I would personally use a Pet carrier service, most major airports offer this service. They do all the paperwork for you, make sure the animal has its required vaccinations etc....

Agree.. the paperwork involved in shipping my corgi last September pre Brexit WITHIN the EU was incredible, so can’t imagine not using a specialist carrier.. Importing anything into PT these days is a triplicate box ticking even with a specialist and involved almost an hour in various offices at LIsbon Airport in 35 degree heat before my dog was forklifted over to me..

For your own sanity, pay the money and get a specialist to deal, and more importantly have someone you can call to sort should you need it.

I will be importing three dogs next year from Asia, can you recommend an affordable agent?

Go to the portuguese consulate Toronto/Ottawa website and you will find all necessary information there. Yes, you have to inform thevet at Lisbon airport ahead, to make sure they are there to inspect the forms and the animal before entering the country. Have Euros at hand, last time it cost 35EU. No credit card accepted.
