Hey Everyone, India noob here :)

I am going to be staying in Mumbai (do we still call it Bombay?) for all of January (maybe longer) and working at Trade World, Lower Parel.

I would be grateful for your thoughts about somewhere to stay, which is not more than half an hour from work (I'm not a morning person!). I am fine with room in house, apartment or hotel (around $50 p/n?)

Also, I am probably going to be getting around by taxi (or I am told there are TukTuks there?) so just wondering on general advice about that.

I dont want this opportunity to slip by without getting out and about with my camera too, so anyone know any great photo spots or photography clubs, that would be great.

Finally, as always in new destinations, it would be super to make some new friends :)

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul.

Hope you will be having a great trip in Mumbai. If you find some time, please do plan a visit to South where you can too enjoy the photography and give some work to your camera.
South we are in Chennai, Which is near a french colony named Pondicherry. Surrounded by good beaches, Sculptures and good temples.

Dear fellow blogger,
It is called Mumbai.Only occasionally people use the word Mumbai.

You will find many people to offer you a house or room therein if I understand your budgeted amount correctly.Even the hotels.
Yes at about or less than 1/2 an hour distance.

There are no tuktuk anywhere near the Trade world at Lower Parel. They operate only in suburbs.

The photography clubs can be found on the net.Need to know if the subject of photo is nature or people.A lot will depend on that.

Welcome to Mumbai. It would be great to know a little more about vietnam from you.

Best wishes,
Art
