Post new topic

alinataschina

Hello,
My name is Alina,42 years old, from Romania.I have a daughter,9 years old.Our plan is to move from this summer in Malta.I would like to know on the job opportunity, how easy would it be for me to get a job in Malta? My profession is a dentist. And of course this is first step for us,to find a dentist job.
Thanks very much for your help!

Hi, getting a job here will not be a problem. More likely if you want full time hours, you may have to work in 2 or 3 different clinics. You will need to be registered with the medical council. You need to contact the medical council for what is . There is a journal here called The Probe that advertises jobs (you may need to subscribe.) Otherwise, it's a case of sending your C.V. out to clinics to see if they're hiring.

Hello coxf0001,
I am really grateful for your answer.I will follow your advice.

Best regards,
Alina Taschina

Hello Alina,

I'm a Spanish dentist thinking of moving here in Malta as well.
Have you started doing any paper for working there?
Tell me, I would really appreciate listening your experience to start doing myself.
Thanks a lot.

Do you mean starting your own up or working for someone else?

apir4s

Work in a clinic that already operates.
I saw that I should present different documents, but meanwhile can I start to work? I remember that in the EU states is possible to work for 90 days without any authorization. Am I wrong?

You have to register with the Medical Council first and obtain your licence to practice Dentistry in Malta.

apir4s

I was reading the documents in the website suggested and I have found that:

Temporary Service Provision
• May be granted upon application to EU/EEA nationals in possession of a primary
dental qualification form an EU/EEA state and fully registered in an EU or EEA
state to provide dental services in Malta on an occasional basis. Conditions may
apply

I don't want to move to Malta for the all year, but I want to work 2-3 days per week.

Thank you very much for your help!

coxf0001

Yes however, you still need to register for your licence. You can't just come and work straight away with just having your documentation. You still have to apply first. Why don't you contact them

apir4s

Thank you!

I'm from India and I'm a dentist. Inorder for me to practice in Malta, what should I do?. Is there an equivalency test that I should be preparing for?. If not what all documents are required for the registration?.

Write to the dental association of Malta and ask for advice. You can also write to the University of Malta to find out if an Indian qualification entitles you for employment in Malta. Good luck.

Who are you asking to write to you? (French is not a problem in private messages, but the Forum is English only.)

Also it is not advisable to make your contact details public.

As advised on posts above, you need to get in touch with the Medical Council.

dr_roy

@GozoMo what about as a dental hygienist or dental assistant? Can a BDS holder work in those capacities?
