When you leave Singapore, your EP (or the SVP following it) will expire.
You can then enter with the new IPA (one time and with the purpose of converting it to EP and starting work).

My existing EP expires in October. My employer got the EP renewal approved by MOM in June. I understand the validity of my renewed EP starts only when the existing EP expires.

My question is for how long would my new IPA be valid and how would the processing work for this type of "early renewal".  I am a bit embarrassed for pestering my employer for the renewal before 5 months of expiration.

Hi Techgal,

The validity of the IPA is stated in the IPA letter itself. Your Employer just needs to "issue" your Pass to complete the formalities unless there are other things necessary stated in your IPA.

Follow up question; the validity of my EP renewal IPA expires on 3rd September and my current EP expires on 8th October. If we get the EP issued now, would that overwrite my current pass validity. Or should I wait until September to get it issued.

In most cases, there is no new pass issuance. The dates get adjusted by MoM if the renewal is through. The effective dates would be from your pass expiry, even if you have the approval in hand.

I went for a interview last week and I got a valid IPA today  but before that I enter to Singapore after self appeal due to work without valid pass on 2014...and appealed only this year 2025 and ICA approve my entry requirements and I call MOM before my interview they told me I have no issues with MOM so I'm eligible for work permit.

Do there any chances MOM to reject my WP Application even after my IPA  is valid?

@lynaasree73 Sorry, but your message is incoheren, so I don't understand your situation.

But once an IPA is issued, MoM has already done all the checks they need. And if ICA has already answered you positively, I think there should be no problem.

@lynaasree73 The IPA ("In-Principle Approval") is the approval of your WP.

But you still need to enter Singapore (which ICA can deny) and pass a medical check before the WP is issued.
