EP Rejection: We do not enough about your business

Post new topic

Hi everyone,

Recently I accepted an offer from a MNC (listed on Nasdaq). They just onboarded to Singapore last year. Currently they are only 3 employees (2 Citizens & 1 PR) in Singapore and expending aggressively.

I'm the first employee to apply EP in this company. However I was rejected. Reason as the followings:

We do not know enough about your business. If you are still keen to employ this candidate, please give us the job description, employment contract, the tenancy agreement of your main office, and the CPF Form 90 for the past 3 months.

My employer prepared all the requested document and made an appeal already. Hope everything goes well and get approved this time.

I also share the timeline here and my previous EP applications.

Current one:
06 Oct 2020: Applied
19 Oct 2020: Rejected
21 Oct 2020: Appealed

Previous application 1
17 Aug 2020: Applied
31 Aug 2020: Approved

Previous application 2
16 Dec 2019: Applied
31 Dec 2019: Approved

Is there any specific reason why are you changing job so frequently? It may go against you as MoM doesn’t like job hoppers. Good luck

Due to COVID I got lay-off in August. To stay in Singapore I chose a company that could give me EP immediately, but the annual salary is much lower than the previous one. During these month I kept seeking opportunities and received this new offer.

Understood the reason. Hope your employer put a strong rationale during their appeal so that MoM may  consider your case.

Believe, you are still continuing with your current job and didn’t inform about your new job offer. Good luck

06 Oct 2020: Applied
19 Oct 2020: Rejected
