Foreigner Jobs in SG

Post new topic

Hello! I'm looking into the possibility of working in SG. I'd like to know what the phrase "no quota for foreigners" mean. I'm getting different answers from people. Does this mean the job is open to foreigners, or it means they are not accepting foreigners? Appreciate the help. Thanks!

Yo KuroNekoChan, no quota for foreigner usually means that the company cannot employ foreigners at the moment. To understand this term, you need to understand that there are three types of working pass in Singapore which are work permit, S Pass and E Pass. They have ranked accordingly from low to high skill workers. For Work Permit/S Pass, the company needs to make sure that they have enough quota before they can hire a foreigner. For example, if there are 10 locals working in the company providing services, they can only hire 1 foreigner.

You can check out the quota calculation via MOM website

Even if the company has space in their quota, it is not sure that they can employ a foreigner- for that they'd have to show a convincing explanation that no available local can do the job (and have searched for one for at least a month).

Thanks, guys! Appreciate your help!

Is there any website that you can recommend where I can possibly find jobs for foreigners in SG?

There were several discussions with recommendations of job webpages, did you already read them?
