Can employer request to expedite EP Process

Hi

My EP Applied since 22/1/2021 is in Pending state as of today. I had contacted my employer, he said he will talk to MOM and request to expedite the process.. I wanted to check if thats really possible?

He also shared a request number after talking to MOM (thats what he told me atleast). I have my doubts if thats even possible.

The employer can follow up your application status

But still at MOM discretion with regards on the processing time

The question is,
1. can they request to expedite the process?
2. What could be the request ID that my employer shared with me after talking to MOM

1. Yes, the can REQUEST a speedier process. But whether it will make any difference is not sure.
2. No idea.

Thanks @beppi.

My EP got approved today, it was pending since more than 3 weeks. I would like to believe that a request from Employer to expedite the process helped but I don't have any concrete evidence to conclude so.
